Panasonic's G10 Series Plasmas is one of their best series of TV's! The only one that is rated higher is the High-end V10 Series(which is rated #1 in the world)!

The best thing to do is keep the contrast down on the TV for the first 100 hrs or so. You don't have to do it for 200hrs! The whole break-in thing is a suggestion anyways, it's not something you HAVE to do...but it helps condition the gases to last longer!

And don't worry about burn-in either. These TVs have outstanding technologies in them to make burn-in impossible(pixel orbiting, better gases & screen savers)!

Once you've gone thru the 100hrs, then you can bump up the controls to were you like them. I recommend this site: http://www.cnet.com/1990-7874_1-5108543-1.html?tag=hdtv;hdtvfd_l

The one thing i realized with my Panasonic Plasma TV is that in the menu there is a setting under the picture controls for the black levels. Mine came from the factory on the darkest level. This level made it almost impossible to see any definition during dark scenes! I bumped it back up to the 'light' black level and now the definition is outstanding and the color saturation is phenominal! I recommend playing around with your TV's picture controls before you give up on the TV. LCD may be able to go brighter, but they definitely do not have the motion sharpness of Plasma's!

Just have a little patience, you won't regret it! I know i don't!

Panasonic Plasma's are great and unless you plan to play games on it for extensive amount of time, I would not worry about burn in.

Don't worry about Logos, unless you watch the same channel for more than a couple of hrs at a time with no breaks or ads.

Dark picture means you need to adjust brightness and Contrast.
Brightness controls "blacks", Contrast controls whites. Avoid also using the "vivid" mode. Standard mode is OK. You may want to invest on a calibration DVD - like Video essentials or search your DVD collection for a DVD with the free THX optimizer.
